Sometimes wrong sports activities revert to hypertrophic calves. Sometimes excessive leg trainings make the same. However most of the reason is heritage.

Is there a solution?
Whatever the reason is, the solution for calf reduction is the same. We decide on the technique according to patient medical records, health status, leg shape, fat deposit around calves and how big are the calf muscle and which parts included.
Techniques to prefer...
Laser Liposuction: Laser liposuction removes excessive fat deposits if that is the case around calves. In some cases, large calves surrounded by fatty tissue so laser liposuction is added to calf reduction surgery.
Endoscopic Partial Gastrocnemius muscle resection: If there is no fatty tissue around calves, then we talk about partial muscle resection. There are 2 sides of gastrocnemius muscle; lateral and medial. Medial or both of them are resected according to the leg shape to avoid bow shape leg after surgery. However this can be the outcome in some leg types after surgery and the expected outcomes are talked during physical consultation.
